The famous Puerto Banus is where the millionaires hang out. Luxury yachts, expensive cars, designer clothes and posh restaurants abound. Don’t forget your wallet!

Daily safari expeditions are available from local ports for dolphin and whale watching or for sea fishing.

Benalmadena is a short drive away where there is a marine park. Touch sea creatures and watch dolphin acrobatics. The Crocodile Park at Torremolinos reputedly houses Europe’s largest crocodile, a giant Nile croc. Over 300 crocodiles, with different species. Regular guided tours. Baby crocodiles often available to touch and handle. Tivoli World in Arroyo de la Miel is a must for children but is only open 18.00-02.00. The Teleferico cable cars are also nearby and give breathtaking coastal views towards Africa.

Ronda is a pleasant mountain town an hour's drive through marvellous mountain scenery. Home of Spain’s first bull ring it also has a spectacular gorge, historical monuments and buildings and fabulous surrounding views. Not to be missed!

A visit to the weekly market is always interesting. Nueva Andalucia Market is near the Bull Ring and centro Plaza on Saturday mornings. Estepona market is on Wednesdays and San Pedro market is on Thursdays. A variety of wonderful sights and smells welcome the visitor and bargaining is not a problem. A good place to buy fruit, vegetables, flowers, plants, clothes, and gift items.

Marbella is also well worth a visit for its narrow streets, traditional shops and cafes and the famous Plaza de Los Naranjos (Orange Tree Square)

Nearby Selwo Park is a large open air safari park, also includes rides and activities. Excellent scenery, shows and restaurants/bars. Selwo Marina is a fun family day out, includes dolphin and seal shows.

Water parks are also popular with locals and tourists alike. We recommend Bahia Park in Algeciras which tends to be less busy even in the summer months. It is easy to find, well signposted from the A7 travelling in a westerly direction from Nueva Andalucia either on the N340/A7 or on the Toll Motorway towards Gibraltar. There is also a large Aqualand water park in Torremolinos .

Gibraltar is approximately 40 minutes drive away, with British shops, pubs and restaurants. And they do accept British currency or euros here. Superb views from the "Rock" of the coastline towards North Africa. Look out for the apes and caverns on the rock.
